David, the capital city of Chirique is on the costal plain, and it is the third largest province in Panama.  It is a colonial neighborhood where the main attraction is the Jose de Obadia History and Art Museum.

Boquete is another, which is a small mountain village on the slope of the sleeping giant Vocan Baru in the Western province of Chiriqui.  This town is the most popular retirement destination in Panama, and one of the most popular retirement destinations in the world.

Bocos DelToro is another great area which is situated on the northwestern coast of Panama in and around the Bay of Chiriqui.  This region has only recently been discovered by international travelers, and for this reason much of the island chain remains in pristine and untouched splendor.

Volcan, too, is a great area and it is a quaint mountainous community located at the foothills of the Baru Volcan.  It is nestled between the beautiful Chriqui highlands and is known as “a land of eternal spring” with a diverse  combination of rainforest, lush green meadows, springs, rivers, waterfalls, high mountain lakes, coffee plantations, vegetables and flower farms and cattle ranges.

El Valle de Anton is another option with similar mountain climate, but closer to Panama City, just a couple of hours outside of the capital.  El Valle is known for its square trees and golden frogs.  It is also known for their petroglyphs—rocks decorated with strange but gorgeous designs.

Cerro Azul Panama is located in the mountains along Panamas Chagres National Park, and just 35 minutes from Tocumen Internatinal Airport and less that one hour from Panama City.

The Darien Province has a great variety of ecosystems and is the last safe home for many endangered species. It is considered one of the most complete, pristine tropical ecosystems that can still be found in the Americas.

Coastal Areas

Panama has coasts on two oceans:  the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea.  Here you will find miles and miles of gorgeous coastlines, with world famous beautiful pristine beaches and islands beyond belief that are simply breathtaking.   And the good thing is there are still lots and lots of beach front properties available at excellent prices.

Pearl Islands is famous for its beaches and resorts and has cam waters that are great for fishing, snorkeling, sailing and scuba diving.

Taboga Island is a group of Pacific Islands just off the west of Panama City. It is a popular weekend destination for residents of Panama City who are looking to enjoy the slower pace of island life, the flowers, the beaches, and the water sports.

Gorgona is a beautiful beachfront with a mix of white and volcanic sand.

San Blas Archipelago are beautiful islands nestled away on Panama’s eastern Caribbean coast and are surrounded by postcard like scenic white-sand beaches, coconut trees and turquoise water.

Santa Clara another favorite is one of the first American beach communities in Panama and is approximately one hour and 15 minutes from Panama City. It has excellent weather and picturesque beaches and gorgeous scenic views.

Portobelo is one of Panama’s richest historical sites.  It is also popular for its Caribbean Harbors.
