Panama Beaches

Panama has coasts on two oceans: the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea. Here you will find world famous beautiful beaches and islands that are simply breathtaking. These coasts, although different, are both suited for all sorts of activities.

Caribbean Sea

It has been said, “that the most beautiful part of Panama is located along the Caribbean coast: the 365 islands of this archipelago are each a real postcard scenery with the white sand beaches, coconut trees and turquoise waters”. You will not find more beautiful, Panama beaches than in this area.

On the Caribbean coast, the beaches on the provinces of Colon, San Blas and Bocas del Toro and their neighboring islands, are small to mid-sized and all of them have coral reefs nearby, they are often near other waterways and most have been formed by coral buildup. These are the best beaches suitable for scuba diving.

On the Island of Colon you will find a large number of hotels, restaurants, entertainment centers and installations for ecological and adventure tourism.

Panama’s Islands of the San Blas Archipelago are strung out along the Caribbean coast of Panama from the Golfo de San Blas nearly all the way to the Colombian border. San Blas is a series of 378 islands of which only 49 are inhabited by the fiercely independent Kuna Indians. The area is surrounded by reefs, some of the oldest in the world, and offer wonderful diving and snorkeling opportunities, the best of which are between the months of April and June.

In Panama’s province of Bocas del Toro you will find splendid locations to practice water sports or simply to relax on the white sand or to sunbathe. Red Frog Beach on the Isla Bastimientos, is Boca’s most beautiful beach. And you won’t miss the frog with black polka dots who calls out to you as you walk through the rainforest. This is the only place in the world you will find this scarlet creature

Pacific Ocean

On this coast you will find series of islands, which are easily accessible from the Pan-American Road. Many water sports including windsurfing, surfing and swimming are practiced here.
