Hotel Roma Plaza Panama City Panama
During our vacation in the gorgeous country of Panama we planned on staying in the city for four or five days. We wanted to take in some of the shows and nightlife. We stayed at the Hotel Roma Plaza Panama a European style building, with 7 floors, 133 rooms, located in Zona 5 also known as Caladonia.
This Panama Hotel is great for the price you pay. The rooms are small to average sized and clean and the maid service is good. Every room has a television (cable/satellite), broadband internet access, coffee maker, and a mini bar. There is a small restaurant in the hotel and they cater to what you want. I thought that was great. I always got a good meal. There is also a cafeteria, swimming pool, free parking garage, room service, and tours. For those of you smokers this is a non-smoking hotel environment.
During the day it is common to see many Panamanians hustling back and forth to work and street vendors selling lunch ala carte but at night it is not recommended to walk—always take taxis. If you are going to stay in this neighborhood, it is fine but you must carry yourself appropriately and take care. There is an armed security guard who takes pride in helping individuals and is on the premises at all times keeping the hotel and it patrons safe.
In reviewing this hotel if you are looking for a place to sack out and get rest and relaxation this place is wonderful. If you are looking for a place in the center of the city with just a two or three dollar cab ride to just about anywhere you want to go this place is wonderful. For just ten dollars we took a cab to the Canal which was about 25-30 minutes.
There are a lot of great sights to see besides the canal—it is near the most popular shopping area and has lots of beauty salons and parks. It is only 2 blocks away from the Bay of Panama and about 25 minutes from the International Airport and close to a 24 hour clinic.
