Panama Islands

Panama is a connecting bridge of the North and South American countries and consists of several islands. These are subdivided into smaller islets of Panama. Some of them are without names. The lifestyle and culture of people inhabiting these islands are similar in some ways. The currency used in Panama is called Balboa.

Tourist Attraction

These islets of Panama are mainly inhabited by the Kuna Indians. They have endeavored to keep their tradition intact. They reside in thatched huts and rule their own independent provinces.

Contadora is the fifth largest island of Panama’s famous Pearl Islands and is situated in the Pacific Ocean. It is at a distance of about 50 miles from Panama City. It has a number of hotels, restaurants, dive shops, a 9-hole golf course and even a duty-free store. Contadora Island in Panama has 13 beautiful beaches which surround the island. There may be thousands of islands near the Panama coast; but there are two major archipelagos called the San Blas and Bocas del Toro in the Caribbean Sea. They are ideal for snorkeling, Scuba diving and deep-sea fishing.
